The Plan Award’s professional jury has honored Oberbillwerder The Connected City as winner of the future masterplan category! We are thrilled about the recognition that underlines the importance of continuing to develop sustainable urban areas.

The Connected City (360 ha) near Hamburg will be one of Europe's most sustainable developments. We designed the masterplan to guarantee ideal climate comfort and maximize solar orientation and PV efficiency. Water and green are the backbone of the neighborhood and within the area, the modes of mobility will save and actually generate energy.

The masterplan has been elaborated by team Adept and Karres en Brands together with engineering offices of Transsolar and Buro Happold, for client IBA Hamburg.
