We are delighted to announce that Oberbillwerder ‘The Connected City’ is selected as finalist for the THE PLAN Awards 2020, in the category ‘urban planning’. Oberbillwerder is one of the largest new urban development in Hamburg in decades, second only to HafenCity. With its proximity to a diverse natural area and culturally significant landscape, it will be an urban area brimming with water and ecological resources. The masterplan has been elaborated by team Adept and Karres en Brands together with engineering offices of Transsolar and Buro Happold, for client IBA Hamburg.

Previously the project won the prestigious WAF awards for ‘Future Masterplanning’ and ’Future Project of the Year’ and was granded a platinum label by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB), making it Europe's most sustainable urban masterplan.

The public voting is now open on the website and runs till until September 13th
