Super proud to announce that Karres en Brands is selected for the final phase of the competition to transform Grasbrook, in Hamburg. 

After Hafencity and Elbbrücken, Grasbrook is the next large harbour transformation in Hamburg and a major step in the city’s effort to develop on the southern bank of the Elbe. In this approximately 60ha industrial harbour Hamburg aims to realise 3.000 new households and about 16.000 new working places with a total of 850.000m2, which makes it one of the largest urban developments in the city.

In the first competitive round 12 renowned offices competed individually in 2 categories (urban planning and public space). 6 offices made it to the next and final competitive dialogue round and will be teamed up to form 3 multidisciplinary teams.
