karres+brands together with EFFEKT, ALECTIA, WTM, K.E. Andersen and EDC have been selected as one of seven teams to design Ny Østergade in Roskilde (DK).

The 3 hectares sized competition area between the railway and Ny Østergade is to be developed into a vibrant, attractive and sustainable urban area that can serve as a bridge between the northern and southern part of Roskilde City and contribute to a dynamic center. 

The planning of the new district is the competition`s main task. The new district must provide growth, life and dynamism to Roskilde by providing space for new experiences, housing and business types with a maximum 100,000 m² GFA. 

The competition is anticipated to be held from November 2015 to June 2016.
