Karres en Brands will be working on an urban plan for the Noordplein in Ede. An important part of the redevelopment of the station area. 

Noordplein has to become an attractive focal point of the again. It is a sensitive spot amidst the developments in the station area and the World Food Center and at the same time it is surrounded by a rich cultural history, such as the Keetmolen. The square has a rich history and used to function as the station square. Now, however, it has degenerated into an urban residual space, dominated by logistics. This provides the opportunity for a new characterful inner-city redevelopment. For many inhabitants of Eden it forms a gateway to the station. The square should also provide room for interesting housing, a large bicycle shed and community facilities. In that sense, a new interpretation forms the next chapter of the site itself, but also an important element in the development of the station area. 

In the coming months we will be working with the municipality of Ede and the residents of the city to design a widely supported plan, to make Noordplein a place where people can live and meet again.
