Haarlemmermeer chooses plan ‘Nabij’ for Lincolnpark

Kavel Vastgoed and Hoogvliet Beheer have been commissioned by the municipality of Haarlemmermeer to develop part of Lincolnpark, a new neighbourhood centre in Hoofddorp. The architectural team of Karres en Brands, Groosman, and Rijnboutt, under the urban planning coordination of Karres en Brands, won the tender with proposals for a new mixed urban centre of apartments, care homes, live-work spaces, parking hubs, supermarkets, restaurants, and shops.

With ‘Nabij’, a conscious choice was made for a car-free, green design that promotes health and well-being. Karres en Brands contributed to the team by providing an integrated and coherent urban planning framework as well as a circular public space design and architectural design of private sector park-front homes and a residential block with parking hub and local amenities. This will all be realised with high sustainability and circularity standards with buildings largely being constructed from biobased materials with a timber load-bearing structure at the sustainable core. At street level, there will be space for restaurants, services, and small-scale workspaces, while artworks by Monice Janson act as a local anchor.

‘Nabij’ demonstrates how collaboration between various disciplines can lead to innovative urban planning solutions. The project aims to create a sustainable, accessible, and livable neighbourhood centre, with a focus on the balance between people, nature, and urbanisation. This approach ensures a socially sustainable neighbourhood that is urban, energetic, and green, with a varied housing offer and amenities that meet the needs of a variety of residents.

In 2025 we will start with the further development, in 2026 the construction will start. We are thrilled to be involved in this project and look forward to future developments
