The jury for Kennisregio aan Zee has selected Karres and Brands' vision as its winner! For this assignment, Karres en Brands experimented with new collaborations and techniques. The vision is drawn up together with futurologists from Studio Monnik and economist Charan van Krevel from the University of Nijmegen. The exploratory images are created via the AI ​​program Midjourney and the result is a unique exploration of a future in which social, economic and spatial changes come together.

Our project, 'Dutch Masters', shows a society where prosperity, growth and knowledge are meant, and supported, in a broader sense: prosperity in which well-being comes first. Growth of what? And growth that leaves the planet a better place. Practical and theoretical knowledge that has equal reward and social status. Where Mastery forms the basis of a new, circular meaning economy.

Kennisregio aan Zee is a collaboration between the municipalities of The Hague, Delft, Zoetermeer and Leiden. Through this Open Call, the urban economy of the region and the role broad prosperity can play was projected for 2070.
